“No,” I boomed. “You remember this, Axel. I want you to remember everything you’ve ever said to me from the moment we met because it will be the only thing that keeps you warm at night. You will never get what you broke to have. You are a selfish, greedy, power-hungry male who doesn’t deserve the blessing that was bestowed upon you. I am not what you want or what you think you deserve—and I wholeheartedly agree. But I promise you will never get what you seek.”

Axel stepped back from the group he was with and was promptly shoved to the side. A male bigger than anyone I’d ever seen jostled him out of the way. His eyes locked with mine, and it was like the

world disappeared around us. I couldn’t take my eyes off him as I moved forward, and he sped up, determined to get to me.

“By the goddess, I’ve found you. I’ve envisioned this day and dreamed of you nightly. But my fantasy failed miserably, for you are even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.” His deep voice sunk into my bones, rattling me to my very core. “Tell me your name, my mate, and I will spend the rest of my life making all your dreams come true.”
