Here’s the last form of being lost and, in some ways, it’s the scariest: you don’t know if your work is still necessary. A comment you heard at the latest all-hands meeting might make you nervous that a new initiative will derail yours. Maybe you’ve noticed that your manager or project sponsor is checking in less often, and seems less interested in your results. Or there was a company announcement that listed all of the important projects—and yours wasn’t on it.
