“You should do that more often,” he said confidently. “What?” “Smile like that.”
“Olive,” I breathed out her name. “If you were mine, you would never wonder how perfect you are.”
If there’s something you can’t control, it’s because you weren’t meant to control it. All we can do is manage how we react to what inevitable pain life brings us.”
“What do you want, Olive? You want the moon? Just say the word and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down.”
I knew then—I was utterly in love with Olive Moore, and nothing was going to change that.
Finn looks at you, like you are the only one in the room.” I paused. “Wait, what?” Mom rolled her eyes. “Do I have to repeat the whole thing?” I shook my head. “No, what was that last part…about Finn.” She tilted her head. “I said he looks at you like you’re the only one in the room.” I was hit with the memory of Finn and me at the cafe. “Oh, come on there’s got to be somebody. What does it take to be qualified as Olive Moore’s boyfriend?” “I don’t know. I want someone who will look at me like I’m the only person in the room.”
“I don’t care that it’s only been a couple of weeks. Truth is I am utterly, insanely in love with you, and,” I huffed out a small laugh, “I don’t care. I know that it’s crazy. But the thing is, Olive, I don’t want easy, or simple. I want absolutely crazy, and I want it all with you.”
So, I would gladly claim all your baggage if it meant you would be mine.”
Finn made plans for us to work on it together, trying to find healthy and well-balanced diets that supported my weight loss journey in a way that wasn’t toxic.
