Women hated to be told to calm down, especially women like Francesca.
“Do I wish you were still married to my son? Of course. Do I want you to spend the rest of your life married to his memory? Of course not.” She reached out and clasped one of Francesca’s hands in her own. “You are a daughter to me, Francesca. I want you to be happy.”
“A man would have to be a fool not to want to marry you.”
“No man of any intelligence would pretend to know a female mind.”
