My little demon. She’s always been the one. She doesn’t know it, but I'll let her know when
I want toxic. I want madness. I want someone who makes me question my sanity.
“You will beg me. You will cry for me.” His tongue runs along my cheeks, licking my tears. “You will crawl on your hands and knees for me.”
When I burn the world down, and they ask me why, I’ll tell them the devil asked me to do it. And I wanted to make him proud.
But I also would never want to survive in a world where she doesn’t exist. Death would be heaven compared to a life without her being mine.
“Lie to me again.” I frown. “I’ve never lied to you.” “When …” She licks her lips. “When we were on the boat, and you told me you loved me.” Her eyes seem to soften. “I want to hear that again.”
“That’s what it feels like to love you, Ellington Jade Asher. It’s goddamn fucking consuming. Suffocating.”
“Keep your eyes on my wife. If anything happens to her, I’ll dig them out of your fucking head with a butter knife,” I threaten.
I’ll burn this motherfucking world down before I let a man take her from me. I’ll love her no matter how I get her back, broken or not.
Although I hate what she went through, I’d never change who she is. I love her. Every crooked piece, every sharp edge. She is the frame to a picture. She is what holds me together.
