“I want her on the wedding night.”
I’m going to marry Chance, and he’s going to let my stepfather fuck me along with who knows who, but they’ll never be Sin. And I’ll remind them of that any chance I get.
I stop dead in my tracks when I see Sin leaning up against the island and Corbin next to him.
you’re not already pregnant, you will be soon. And, well, let’s just say that no woman who is pregnant with my child will be doing drugs.”
All I keep thinking about is how I’m going to walk into the house and find her dead because she thought it was her only way out.
Just like her father.
“I’d say name your price, and it’s yours,” I say without hesitation. The three of them smile, but I hear Tyson curse behind me, knowing I might have just signed my life away.
I’m not pregnant, and I hate how fucking sad that makes me.
“Where’s Sin, Ellington?”
“The best Molly you’ll ever have,” Holland answers, winking at me, and I toss it into my mouth, not bothering to even think about it.
“I want Holland.” If he came and got Elli, it’s because he has plans for her. I killed his best friend and left his body to rot as a warning. Elli doesn’t know that, but I’m sure Holland does.
“She’s overdosing,” Tyson speaks.
He didn’t want to fuck my little demon; he wanted to kill her.
My little demon wouldn’t do this to herself. She’s stronger than that.
“Maybe you should give up.” He sighs. “Everyone has a breaking point. Her father got the job done. One day she will too.”
“Are you going back on our deal?”
Holland was overheard bragging about giving Elli a pill laced with fentanyl. And then I guess she also snorted some that she thought was cocaine.”
“It’s true, princess,” the man speaks behind me, and a whimper escapes my parted lips.
I stare wide-eyed at a set of blue eyes I haven’t seen in years.
I don’t know the story as to how he’s alive and standing here in the kitchen either. I just know what Ryat had overheard while on his assignment,
and that if the rumor was true, Tyson knew where he was—Carnage.
“Nicholas.” The way she says his name is so cold and detached.
She lifts her eyes to look at him through her lashes. “I was the one who found you. I lay there on the floor with your dead body for over an hour. You. Were. Dead.”
“Your death ruined her life,” I say simply.
“Because there’s nowhere else I want to be.”
“What did you do?” he demands. “What needed to be done,” I say simply.
“You’re my wife, Elli.”
“Till death do us part, Elli.”
“Give me ten minutes. Get Elli, she needs to come with us as well.”
Sin reaches out, grabs my arm, and yanks me behind him while pulling out his gun and pointing it at my father.
“Sin,” my father says softly. “What?” he snaps, his chest heaving. “Your father and my wife were the only two who knew my brother existed.”
“Wait. You and my father had agreed for me and her to get married?” I make sure I heard him right. “Yeah.” He nods. “She was to be your chosen, and then you’d get married.”
“I begged him to do whatever it took to make her my chosen, and he said you didn’t want her involved with the Lords in any way. Her mother too.”
But you’d have to be a sick son of a bitch to sell your child on the black market just because she can’t carry on your name.
“Never mind.” I hang up and send a quick text to Prickett, telling him I’ll take a rain check, but thanks for the heads-up.
He doesn’t deserve a moment of my time. She does.
“I just want to move on.” She licks her wet lips. “And have a life with you.” Lowering her voice, she adds, “That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”
“I’m not going anywhere, little demon,” I lie to her.
“I’ll call you when I get back into town.”
I could just drink from the bottle, but I feel like counting the number of shots it takes me to drink all the wine.
“Your father was too weak of a man to get the job done.”
“My father isn’t dead.”
“Tell him, Liam.” I look at Sin’s father. “Tell Linc that my father isn’t dead.”
“You’re not touching me,” I say, my voice shaky. “Not this time. Not anymore.”
“The truth is that she had the tightest fucking cunt—"
Linc stares at Nicholas wide-eyed as if he’s seen a ghost.
“Laura was re-gifted to marry James. He found out that Laura had Liam kill Nicholas.”
“He threatened to go to the Lords, but Laura offered up Elli to him.”
