Shen Qingqiu made a zipping motion before his lips, instantly stopping them from making another sound. “Don’t yell,” he whispered. “Do you want to summon that Bai Zhan Peak crowd too?” If Liu Qingge knew of their return, he’d definitely come over, and if he came over, there would be no way to hide Luo Binghe while he was in this state.
Shen Qingqiu caught it and looked: it was that fan of his, again. The fan that had fallen out of his grasp sometime during that chaotic battle on the Luo River. Every time, it was Liu Qingge who picked it up.
Liu Qingge is SUCH a scorned lover. Man could not pull EITHER Shen Qingqius this is embarrassing man
Shen Qingqiu had known that he would react like this and calmly patted his head. “Treatment first.” Luo Binghe nodded, then with two cracks, he slotted his arm and leg back into place. He instantly straightened, using his perfectly whole hands to grasp Shen Qingqiu’s arms, a soft flush rising to his cheeks as his eyes sparkled. “I’m healed! Shizun, let’s…let’s do some exploring?”
Fuck. The size! “Absolutely not!” Shen Qingqiu said resolutely. Those words struck Luo Binghe like lightning. “Shizun, you promised…” What he meant by “absolutely not” was: We can’t just go to town like this—I’ll die! Just how had he managed to survive last time? How had this thing gotten inside his body without killing him? How had he not been annihilated?!
Demons had incredible stamina; this Shen Qingqiu knew. Male leads also had incredible stamina; Shen Qingqiu knew this as well. But that someone who shared both the demonic blood and male lead traits could last this long, that he had such profound stamina—Shen Qingqiu absolutely hadn’t been mentally prepared for that.
Madam Meiyin hospitably poured them both some wine, all while seductively eyeing the deeply frowning Liu Qingge. The longer she looked, the sultrier her expression became, until Liu Qingge simply dismissed her with a roll of his eyes. Despite this, Shen Qingqiu was bubbling over with excitement. Madam Meiyin had a strong preference for pretty boy faces—like those of Luo Binghe and Liu Qingge! Now that she had her sights set on Liu Qingge, would he be able to escape her demonic clutches?
“Why not?” asked Madam Meiyin. “With such a striking appearance, how can it be that no woman has fallen for him? I don’t believe it.” Shen Qingqiu expressed his agreement. “Mm. I’m curious too.” Otherwise, why would one of the ten great mysteries of Cang Qiong Mountain Sect be “Is Great Master Liu asexual?”
The longer Madam Meiyin looked at the petals, the more solemn her expression became. Finally, she said, distressed, “Sir, about the red thread from your past—my skill is insufficient, so I can’t…see it clearly. At first glance, it seemed like you were alone, but if I look carefully, I can catch a faint glimpse of another thread.” She concluded regretfully, “This thread has been cut… Such a pity.”
“Is there more?” Liu Qingge suddenly asked. Shen Qingqiu startled. Only then did he realize that Liu Qingge was no longer listening in secret—he’d moved over to face them completely. Since when had Great Master Liu had so much interest in gossip? “Your fated person has very little interest in others,” Madam Meiyin went on. “But once they find someone, their devotion is absolute.” Liu Qingge thought for a while, his expression solemn. Then he asked, “What about appearance-wise?”
Madam Meiyin nodded. “Perhaps they may endure short periods of separation, but they quickly reunite. And each time, the other party takes the initiative to chase him.” The corner of Liu Qingge’s eyes kept twitching, then he would violently suppress it, like something had greatly disturbed him. Or perhaps it would have been more correct to say that he’d stepped on a great big landmine.
Out of the blue, Liu Qingge said, “Don’t believe her.” Shen Qingqiu was baffled. “Huh?” “That thing before! She was just messing around!” “Don’t be so agitated. I never believed her.” Great Master Liu’s behavior was awfully strange; Shen Qingqiu couldn’t help glancing at him. He’d barely done so when Liu Qingge met his eyes and snapped, “Don’t look at me!”
SHEN JIU THOUGHT a lot about why Yue Qi never returned to look for him. Perhaps he’d been discovered while making his escape, and the human traffickers had broken his legs. Perhaps he had been unable to find any food on his journey and, being unwilling to beg, he’d starved to death. Perhaps his potential had been too meager, so none of the immortal mountains had been willing to take him in. Shen Jiu even imagined walking to the ends of the earth looking for Yue Qi’s remains, and how, after finding them, he would dig him a grave with his own two hands. Perhaps he would even do his best to shed

Yue Qi grabbed his hand and frantically sprinted away. Having gone through a fierce battle, both youths were in shock. They leaned against a tree, panting heavily. Once he’d calmed down, Shen Jiu finally gave Yue Qi a long, thorough look. His cultivation was extraordinary, and his bearing poised and steady. His clothes weren’t of the common make either, and his demeanor was exactly like that of the great masters themselves. He couldn’t have been further from the hellish straits Shen Jiu had imagined. This was not Yue Qi but Yue Qingyuan.
Some people were rotten from birth. Shen Jiu thought of himself in exactly this way—someone vile and poisonous from the start. Because, at that instant, he came to a crystal-clear realization: That he’d rather have met a Yue Qi who’d died in some unknown corner, his remains unsightly and forgotten, than a Yue Qingyuan who was elegant and powerful, his prospects and future boundless.
“That name irritates me whenever I hear it. I’ve long forgotten it. So please, Zhangmen-shixiong, you should also discard it.” Yue Qingyuan said, “Then the day you respond to it would be the day it no longer irritates you?” A pause. Shen Qingqiu sneered. “That will never happen. Yue Qingyuan, allow me to say it once more: never let me hear that name, ever again.”
The hope for the day it no longer irritates him actually killed me. Every word he speaks make me, too, long for a ending where they can be happy together as they were when they were young. This is too doomed MXTX. I would have been more content NOT KNOWING
Once, he’d waited days and nights for that person, and he hadn’t come. And now, when he’d never thought that person would, he just had to. On the corner of Shen Qingqiu’s lips hung a cold smile. “Ha. Ha ha. Yue Qingyuan, ah, Yue Qingyuan.” Originally, Luo Binghe’s mood could have been considered cheerful, but when he saw that bizarre smile, he inexplicably became upset. “What are you smiling about?” he asked gently.
Yue Qingyuan shouldn’t have met this kind of fate. For the purpose of attending a decades-late appointment, in order to fulfill a futile, meritless promise. The sword broken, the man dead. It shouldn’t have been like this. Threads of blood unfurled, extending outward. Right before they should have converged into one, they passed each other by.
Tianlang-Jun had said, “But why is loving a person such a difficult thing?” At the time, Zhuzhi-Lang had been unable to squeeze out a smile, nor had it been able to speak. As if lost in thought, it had flicked out its tongue, spraying Tianlang-Jun with a face full of snake saliva. It truly is difficult, it thought. But no matter how difficult, it’s less difficult than making one’s heart stop loving.
