“It’s purring!” “Does that mean it will eat you?” She shrugs. Shrugs!

He’s downright chipper. I try to be a positive person, and for the most part I am, so I could write his change in attitude as being the result of surviving or maybe even hooking up with me last night… But something tells me it’s not either of those things, and it puts me right the fuck on edge.

“Oh, no,” Reif says cheerily. “That was sheer idiocy. The woman could be useful. I do not know much about their species, other than they successfully repelled a Roth invasion once, despite being severely underpowered. I do know that a mate should be an equal partner, however and you are definitely fucking that up quite well.”

“That’s really romantic,” I tell him, fluttering my eyelashes. “You think me force-feeding people their limbs is romantic?” “I’ve read too many orc romances, probably.” I snort.

“Tell us what you have learned,” Nydo commands. “How do you please a human female?” “Strangely, in many of the books I have studied, they love to be kidnapped. It appears to be something of a custom for their people.”

“You are coming with me,” he says. “You are my mate, and I am kidnapping you, just like they do in the books you like. My semen is not nutritious, but I will still feed it to you.” Tati spits out her drink, soaking Carmen, who stands there dripping in shock. “Uh,” I manage. “Can’t say I expected this tonight.”
