“Jewels, is everything alright?” I asked again. Challa was pulling on his leash, but I couldn’t look away from her surprised expression. She shook her head. “It’s best if you guys go, I’m busy right now. I was about to get in the tub and freshen up.” “Did something happen to you?” Hardy asked. “Did someone hurt you?” “No, Hardy, I’m alright. Listen, we can talk later, alright?”
“Don’t treat me like a helpless princess in a tower.” She folded her arms and looked off. I adjusted on the couch to lean over her, smiling as she sank away with worried eyes. I pulled myself closer to her, but she stopped backing away. The worry in her eyes was fading, and there was something else blossoming in them. I was close enough to kiss her, but I stopped short just to gaze at her. “This is my tower, and you are my princess.”
