Jedi were taught to deal with loss, but that didn’t mean they didn’t feel it.
And when a Jedi put themself in danger, it wasn’t for the thrill. It was because someone needed to stand in the way of the monsters.

“Can you get me out of this?” asked Obik. “Whooo,” said EX-9B. “Doo-beep-dat-doo-wheee.” “Look, I wasn’t trying to question your competence,” said Obik, still whispering. “And yes, it was an excellent plan to play dead until I was awake.”
