“Who . . . who are you?” she asked in a husky voice. “I’m about to be your hero.” “My . . . my hero?” she whispered. “Yeah. I’m here to kill the bad guys and rescue the pretty princess.
“Oh, thank God. Brody, you’re my superhero. If Spiderman and Batman had a baby it would be you.”
“Not feeling very verbal right now, huh?” He eyed her. She shook her head. He brushed her hair back gently before kissing her again. “That’s all right. When you need me to, I’ll be your voice.”
He wasn’t wrong. But no one was coming between her and her caffeine. She’d slice a bitch over that.
For the first time in his life, he asked himself a question that he never thought he would. One he never wished to ask himself again. What would Duke do if this was Sunny?
The guy was hot and charismatic and protective and commanding. He was also completely batshit crazy. And he had zero boundaries.
“What is it? What’s wrong? Why are you on the back of the sofa?” “Mouse!” “What? Where? Holy heck!” He raced out of the room. Where had he gone? Had he left her on her own to fight the mouse? Then she heard thumps before he appeared with his lightsaber.
“You can’t go around getting revenge on anyone who has hurt me,” she told him. “That is basically my entire purpose for living. To make sure those who harm either of you suffer. And to eat pie. I do love pie. Especially cherry pie.”
The Fox stood there and watched them. His two precious babies. He’d raze the whole world just to see them smile. To know they were safe.
“Whoa, that’s a big plug,” Autumn commented as the Fox drew it out. “I didn’t know something that huge could fit in a person’s ass. Brody’s butt must be a Tardis.”
The door banged open, making her cry out as the Fox walked in. He was dressed all in black and held a shovel over his shoulder.
“I’m going to dig up that bastard so I can torture him some more.”
Personally, the Fox thought the world would be a better place without this bitch in it. Look at him being all altruistic and worrying about the planet. Next thing, he’d be recycling and driving an electric car. Joking. He already recycled. He wasn’t a monster.
People should come with a manual, it would be so much easier.
The Fox forced himself to move calmly and carefully, even though he wanted to rush out and fucking incinerate whoever had made his girl scream like that. Nobody touched his baby and lived to tell the story. They were messing with the wrong Daddy.
As soon as his Pup was all right, because there was no way he was going to die, he was going to kill him.
reached back to hold onto Autumn. “I love you both. So fucking much. You’re not to leave me. Ever.” “Really, Daddy?” Autumn asked, looking tearful. “You love us?” “Yes. Really. So fucking much it hurts. I’m not sure this feeling emotion shit is healthy.”
“There’s no more room in my cold, dead heart for anyone else but the two of you and my sweet girl.”
