What are the fucking chances that the lunatic from the gas station was the same woman my father had been gushing about for the last two weeks over the phone? This had to be some kind of joke.
“Because you just degraded her. I told you that several people sang her praises, and you said it must be because they want to sleep with her. How would you feel to hear someone speak about your mother or your sister like that? I know you’ve been through a lot, and leaving the SEALs was harder than you thought it would be, but that does not give you permission to be an asshole. I’d rather have someone lose their temper at a gas station than have someone belittle another person just because they didn’t get their way. You’re better than that, Wolf.”
“Are you always this exhausting?”
The man oozed BDE. But he’d met his match. Because we both had big dick energy. And I would not back down, even if he was the sexiest man I’d ever laid eyes on.
“Too bad for you that it doesn’t matter how big it is. I have zero interest in it.”

Wolf Wayburn was used to getting his way. But I wasn’t afraid of the big, bad Wolf, so he was going to be sorely disappointed.
“Thank you for telling my baby sister that I have warts on my penis. Congratulations. You’ve reached an all-time low.”

“Is there such a thing as a sexy Rocky?” “I’m the female version. It’s mine and Dad’s favorite movie, and I’m wearing the famous white shorts with a red stripe and heels and a crop top.” “You can’t make the Italian Stallion sexy. That’s just wrong for a multitude of reasons.”
“When all the little girls were being princesses, you were the Italian fucking Stallion?”
“You know, for a dirty-talking, cocky bastard, you’ve got awfully good manners.”
“I told her I was in a relationship. Because whatever the fuck this is, it makes me happy. I don’t want anyone else. And I know that fucking scares you, and it scares me, too. And maybe it will end in a day or two. Who the fuck knows? But I told her I wasn’t interested because I was with someone else.”
“Mine.” The word had more meaning than I wanted to admit. Because she was mine. There was no way around it anymore.
Did I love Wolf Wayburn? Yes. But no one needed to know that. Not my sisters and not Wolf. I was still processing the fact that I was in love with this man. Now I just had to figure out what to do about it.
And one day, someone is going to come into your life, and you’ll just know. You’ll know that’s your person.”
“Minx. I love you in a way I didn’t know was possible. My life doesn’t work now without you, and I want you to know that if I don’t make it home, you were my last thought. My only thought. I know you’re pissed because you’re always pissed at me, right?”
“I left you because I would die before I let anyone, or anything, hurt you. This is what I know. My need to protect you is innate. And if I survive this, I’m coming for you. I’ll always come for you, Minx. You’re mine, and I’m yours. No more secrets. No more exit strategy. And if I don’t come back, I hope that you won’t date anyone else because I will hunt that fucker down from the grave. I love you. The big, bad Wolf.”
She’d been it for me since the day I met her. She wormed her way into my cold, jaded heart, and she never left. And I planned to keep her there forever.
“Yeah. When I was heading into that cave, I didn’t know what I was walking into. And it was your face that I saw. I realized I had something bigger than myself to fight for.
