When he took her face in his sweaty palms, tears still running down his cheeks, she thought that seeing him like that would have torn her apart and ripped her heart to pieces. The agony in his eyes was excruciating, but all she felt was utter emptiness. She wanted to beg him to stay, to scream at him for even thinking about leaving her, but her mind was blank and her body lifeless.
