The tenderness with which he looked at her was enough to make her want to cry. She missed him. She missed him looking at her like that, making her feel safe and loved. She missed him feeling like home. A home that threw you outside and locked the doors after promising to be your sanctuary, her inner voice reminded her, but she pushed the thought away. Not now. Not when it felt so good to find a little piece of herself back.
