Loving yourself was a journey, one that had its ups and downs. Every day was a struggle when you were constantly reminded that your body didn’t fit society’s standards.
I would like to dedicate it to someone who always felt like home during my darkest and loneliest moments. Someone who reminded me of where I come from, no matter where I was, like an anchor to who I am deep inside. I don’t know where in the world she is now, but Avery, this one’s for you.”
She missed him. She missed him looking at her like that, making her feel safe and loved. She missed him feeling like home.
“Then, stop reading romance novels. You’re hurting yourself with all your dreamy ‘book boyfriends.’” Everybody laughed and sighed because, yeah … real-life men could never measure up to book boyfriends.
“We're not over, baby. We can never be. As long as I’m breathing, my heart is yours. It always has been.”
It wasn't that she was unlovable, it was that she wasn't worthy enough to sacrifice anything for.
Their love story reminded her of encores artists did during shows, leaving the stage for a while, the crowd going wild, only to come back with one final song that would end the evening on the highest note. That’s what this was. Their last encore. One last song that would last for the rest of their lives, after an eventful, thrilling, heartbreaking show.
