she's going to go on the betrayal track even though this story confirms her father is the monster she thinks he is already! yes it hurts, but knowing the truth is better than being in the dark. who cares if it's a newspaper story? I guess in the 40s the court of public opinion didn't matter as much to the elite, like they're just the rabble anyway. whereas nowadays, with as little justice as the Justice system gets done, especially against the rich, news is the only way any of us can get closure sometimes
