‘When one of you fasts a day, he should oil his head and beard and wipe his lips, so that people will not see that he is fasting. When he gives with his right hand, he should conceal it from his left hand. When he prays, he should draw the curtain over his door. Allah Almighty shares out praise as He shares out provisions.’ (Bayhaqī in Shuʿab 6498).5
