Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī narrated that the Prophet said, ‘The metaphor of the believer and the metaphor of faith is that of a horse tethered to a rope which lunges and is restrained by the rope. So too the believer, when he forgets, he returns to faith. So feed the God-fearing your food and bestow your favours upon the believers.’ (Aḥmad 11526, Ibn Ḥibbān 616 and Abū Yaʿlā 1106).
