I’m not sure how to explain just how much women are accustomed to dealing with pain. Pain for women is normalized. Just gave birth? Take an ibuprofen. Getting an IUD? It’ll take too long to wait for an anesthetic, it’s just a little pinch, just breathe through it. It’s both misogynistic and bizarre that it is considered completely normal to perform invasive gynecological procedures with no pain management.
