“Ten days, Pickering. Ten days and we’ll finally take back what was stolen from us. Torskethorpe belongs to us, and their attempt to bring in an outsider to save their country will blow up in their faces. And soon their farce will come to a rightful end.”
Completely oblivious, Jiminy asks, “How does the waist feel?” He moves his hand across my abdomen and quickly removes his touch, as if I just burned him. “My goodness.” He adjusts the glasses he put on before working on his pinning. “I’ve never seen such a set of abs like this in person.”
I start with one hundred in the morning, finish the night with another hundred. I also work on wall sits to keep my legs strong, do squats, lunges, and shadow boxing. Luckily, they didn’t bind my legs together. Instead, they put a shackle on each ankle chained to the wall, offering me plenty of slack.
As much as it pains me to say . . . I don’t think he’s coming back.” “How do you know?” I ask, feeling my heart in my throat. “Because.” Her eyes meet mine. “The first time you two were separated, he checked on you every day, if not multiple times a day. This time . . . I haven’t heard one thing.” She shakes her head. “Not one damn thing.”
i feel like this should indicate that something is wrong. the clues are there and they all know that keller would never just disappear like that. his loyalty to lily and toresktheope runs deep and theo, katla, and lara have known him for so long. they should know something is off. but no, they r just being silly rn
I’m still in love with Keller.
Why did I think when I saw her, everything would be okay? Why did I actually, momentarily think she wouldn’t believe the letter that was left on my desk the night before the wedding, that she’d give me the benefit of the doubt? Fucking naive. So fucking naive.
