There is an ever-present danger that we will take ourselves seriously instead of taking the gospel seriously.

One reason is that apologetics tends to shore up Christian belief more than convince skeptics.

Keller admitted that conservative evangelicals in the United States put too much faith in their methodology and struggle to see the kingdom of God apart from American national interest.
