“Decide what to be, and go be it.”
We kiss until the alarm sounds on my phone. Despite the noise, neither of us stops kissing.
“Highly unlikely,” she says. “I don’t do boyfriends. Overrated.”
In fact, it’s possible the two of us may have had sex before and we don’t even realize it.”
I’m having fun talking to her, that laugh makes me want to drag her to the floor with me and do nothing but kiss her again.
“I know. Imagine what making love to me could feel like.”
My favorite part about you though is when I catch you staring at me. I love that you don’t look away and you stare unapologetically, like you aren’t ashamed that you can’t stop watching me. It’s all you want to do because you think I’m the most amazing thing you’ve ever laid eyes on. I love how much you love me.”
It only feels perfect because we’re pretending it’s perfect.
I slide my hand from her chin to the nape of her neck and I pull her forward until our lips meet. And holy shit, do they meet. Our mouths meld together like they used to be in love and they’re just now seeing each other for the first time in years.
“We all have deal breakers, Daniel. Some of us just hope we can keep them hidden forever.”
“If I tell you something will you promise not to judge me?” I roll my eyes. “It’s human nature to judge.”
I notice I have to kiss her every time she laughs and she laughs a lot. Which means I have to kiss her a lot.
“Stop! Stop saying things that make me grin like an idiot. My face has been hurting since the second I met you.”
