As the most seasoned captains—and leaders—know, anything is navigable with the right approach. No storm is too strong, and no wave is too high. When you have the humility to accept the conditions you’ve been dealt and develop the skill set to work with them, you’ll be empowered to chart your own course and get there, even if you are forced to face a few detours.
As William Ernest Henley states in the poem “Invictus”: “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.”
Is this coming from emotion, or is this coming from fact?
Whatever stage of life and career you are in, surrounding yourself with people who are different from you will only strengthen your leadership skills.
that there’s value in those who’ve climbed back up from failure. Perseverance is priceless.
questions whether it could be done, I say, “I need assistance, not resistance!”
