Another theory about the disturbance of the Oseberg skeletons centres on the spread of Christianity in Scandinavia. In the mid-eleventh century Yaroslav the Wise had his two pagan uncles, Olaf and Yaropolk, exhumed, blessed and reburied in his newly established church.
