“You are delightfully vicious,” was Razik’s only reply, that slight smirk returning. “Why are you smiling? This is not funny,”

“To make something clear.” The hunger in his eyes shifted to anger, his pupils changing to vertical slits. “I am not going to push something you do not want.” Her gaze darted to the side, but he gripped her chin, waiting until she met his sapphire eyes once more. “But do not imply to anyone that I will go elsewhere when you are right in front of me.”
“How could you keep from me that I would need to leave this world in order to save it?”
“I hate that you know I like chocolate cake and that the promise of books can get me to do anything. I hate that you sleep in my bed but won’t touch me because you’re just that godsdamn respectable. I hate that you make everything with me a competition because you know I won’t back down from you. I hate that you get two glasses and extra food, even when I tell you I don’t want any, because you know I’m lying before I do. I hate that you’re tidy and always picking up after me. “I would mind how you speak to him,” Kailia said calmly, stepping to the side so Cethin could open a set of doors they had come to. “I have killed others for less.” The Avonleyan Queen swept into the room, Cethin behind her. “I really do like her,” Scarlett said after a moment. “Of course you do,” Rayner muttered. “She has a penchant for stabbing first and asking questions later.”
“Fuck me against a wall like a normal person,” she gasped when his teeth sank into the soft place between her neck and shoulder. “I will add eloquent to your list of endearing attributes,” he murmured darkly.
