Yes, we’re absolute masters at changing reality to fit our narrative. But Jesus wants to disrupt all of this. He did it with the men who were ready to stone an adulteress to death. They genuinely believed, no doubt, they were doing the “right” thing. They were carrying out God’s justice, they thought. They were angry for all the right reasons. She was guilty, after all.
