“You are the king. You unite our people, and you win this war.” She handed him his sword.
The witch inched closer. “From water you were pulled and from water you’ll always be. Fire breather.”
The witch looked at Hira and her face paled. “Another Balikian. A marked one. The prophecy is true then.” “What prophecy?” Hira asked. “Don’t listen to her!” M pointed her sword at the witch.
“I, too, can say cunt, my lord, for you are a prince of nothing. And from my cunt you didn’t slither, so that makes you a lord, not a prince,” Almira hissed.
“For the first time since I’ve known battle, blood, and fighting, I can’t wait to come home. To think that you and our child await me makes me desire peace.”
“We won’t reach Easima before the king,” M said. “I’ve no intention of arriving before him. We must allow Arrigo to show his cards, which the fool will do the moment Alton arrives,” Almira said slowly. M turned to her with a raised brow. “You’re using your husband as bait.”
Almira tightened her fist against her heart, as if she could clutch Alton to her. “Indeed I am.”
You’ve fallen in love with this man and you’re willing to burn the world for him.”
“For what it’s worth, you bloomed after Edgar died. You’ve become a queen in a manner Edmee would’ve never understood. She would’ve manipulated Sabian. Her brutality would’ve destroyed this kingdom in the same manner she tried to destroy me.”
Small are the minds of men who salivate at the thought of violence.
“Your bitches stay outside,” he said. Almira pushed past Sanaa and M and cast him a look. “If Arrigo is allowed his bitch, then I’m allowed mine.”
“Then break if you have to. Break here with me, and I’ll carry you if you carry me.”
