laugh defensively, as if the harder I laugh, the harder I can push her pity off me
Sometimes I don’t realize how weighed down I am by my own worries until they are gone.
For some reason, I think I’ll feel better if things are meant to be. It gets me off the hook, doesn’t it? If things are meant to be, it means I don’t have to worry so much about consequences and mistakes.
I’m not sure I understand the meaning behind it, exactly. I don’t know if I get the artist’s intention. But it is certainly striking. And I’m learning not to read too much into good things.
