Her scent was uniquely her and it made his fangs throb and his hands shake. He needed to taste her. It’d been so long, and she smelled like the best thing in the world.
But relentless, venom-induced orgasms while being clutched in the arms of a strapping, undead farm boy? Would it be absurd if she asked him to cuddle afterwards?
His fangs were aching, his mouth filling with saliva. But the bloodthirst was secondary to the almost puppyish eagerness at being able to hold her again, the anticipation of making her come, and the few minutes of conversation they might share afterwards.
Amos gazed down at her, entranced for a moment by the sight of her. She looked soft and warm and sweet. She was the sunshine he would never again witness, brought to him instead in the form of a quietly beautiful woman.
“Because I like you, Tessa. You’re beautiful and sweet and clever. You smell like heaven and taste like paradise. I spend all my free time counting down until your next visit, and then I spend every visit despairing that soon you’ll leave.”
“Nothing tastes like you, Tessa.” He groaned against her skin, sending goosebumps chasing over her neck and down her spine. “I need it too much, sweetheart. I don’t want to hurt you.”
The hunger for her was sharpening into something feral. The urge to hunt her, to watch her from the darkness, to wait for his opportunity to pounce, to hear her gasp as he seized her, to hear her cry of fear turn into moans of pleasure as his teeth sank into her flesh… it was all becoming impossible to ignore.
What about me? she wanted to scream. Who’s going to help me? If everyone loves me so much, why am I constantly drowning and getting no fucking help?
“Your sweet scent is getting stronger.” Amos stepped closer, backing her against the wall. He put one hand on the wall, caging her with his arm, and leaned in close. His other hand cupped her cheek, thumb stroking over her bottom lip. “You like being prey.”
Amos bowed his head, eyes squeezing shut, brow furrowing as if he were in pain. “Ah, sweetheart, you shouldn’t encourage me.”
“I have to be in control of so much stuff all day long and I guess… I like having you take it away.” She took a breath. “Only you. I can’t think of anybody else I’d trust to… to do that.”
There was something about the contrast between his polite self-control and the dark hunger it concealed that made Tessa’s toes curl and her heart pound.
“Ah, Tessa, you make it so hard to be a gentleman,” he growled.
“Keep fighting,” he taunted. “It only gets me harder.”
It was perfect. He was perfect.
Christ, he could come in his pants again just from the unbelievable ecstasy of her. That she existed. That she wanted him.
My software developer homebody vampire boyfriend is kind of a badass, Tessa thought,
“You’re thoughtful and clever and playful. You make my dull life exciting just by existing, and every minute you spend away from me feels like an eternity. I would do anything it took to make you happy. I want you tied to me, body and soul, forever, because I’m desperately in love with you, Tessa.”
“You’re going to take every inch, and you’re going to like it.”
Amos bent down low, skimming his lips along her cheekbone. “Let’s see how long you can come on this cock,” he whispered against her ear. His fangs pierced her throat.
Steady and strong and honest and safe. Mild-mannered, yet deadly. All that brute power simmering inside of him, and he unleashed it only for Tessa, whether he was fighting for her or fucking her.
“Amos?” she said muzzily, slowly emerging from the haze of his venom. “Yes, sweetheart?” “I love you. Forever.” He smiled, pressed his lips to her forehead. “I love you forever.”
