“Please forget I just said that.” He would never. The knowledge that he alone was making her come went straight to some primitive, lizard part of his brain and lit it up like a Christmas tree.
Amos gazed down at her, entranced for a moment by the sight of her. She looked soft and warm and sweet. She was the sunshine he would never again witness, brought to him instead in the form of a quietly beautiful woman.
“I wanted to see more of you. I wanted to watch over you. Guard you.” “‘Guard’ me. Like a possession?” Tessa asked, anger stiffening her spine. She’d never been able to tolerate jealousy in men. It frightened her, made her feel caged. “No,” Amos said quietly. “Like a queen.”
Tessa was tempted to just grab Amos and lay one on him. But she resisted. He wanted to court her, and Tessa suspected a 150-year-old vampire’s idea of courtship was a little slower than modern dating norms.
“Are you frightened?” The words were spoken in Amos’s familiar deep voice, but there was something different in his tone. Something wicked and hungry and maybe a little mean.
She gave it a moment of thought. “No. Intimacy isn’t about gender. And I want intimacy. It’s not like there’ll be this un-fillable void in my soul if I never get to eat pussy.” Amos nearly choked on his own tongue.
“You’re thoughtful and clever and playful. You make my dull life exciting just by existing, and every minute you spend away from me feels like an eternity. I would do anything it took to make you happy. I want you tied to me, body and soul, forever, because I’m desperately in love with you, Tessa.”
