“You may have forgotten, my lady, that I made a solemn vow to protect you… Even from me.”
“Make no mistake, my lady. I do not care for gold and material things. There is only one treasure I will die for, and I am looking at her right now.”
want to forget about everything. I want every moment to feel this good.” Captain Stone put her down and turned her around, bending her over the railing. Georgette hitched a breath as his hands roamed the front of her body. She could hardly breathe as every atom buzzed. She grew lightheaded.
“My dearest Georgette, I make this vow to you. I will kill that beastly pirate, and you will be free.” He lowered himself to one knee and looked up at her with misty eyes. “I will save you, Georgette. And you will be mine.”
“It is said that Isis fell for a human once. She crafted the immortality ring with her own magic so that she could be with her love for all of time.”
“Love makes you do things. Foolish things.”
“Of course, you didn’t know. How could he tell his sweet, innocent Georgette, his only daughter, that he gambled away his wealth and sold her to a pirate?”
“Do not play with fire, my lady. Unless you wish to get burned.”
Captain Stone was not going to stand by and watch his wife burn alive. He was struck by an idea. If the tribe worshipped gods, he would become their god.
“I will always save you,” he muttered into her hair before kissing her head. “I will never stop saving you.”
It was his fault. Everything that had happened to her since he stole her from her home was his fault, and she deserved this time to be upset about it.
“From the moment you caught me in the lost prince’s room, I should have known.” She turned to look at him, soft tears rolling down her cheeks. “And the Spanish man said that letter opener belonged to the Crown.”
“The king declared you lost at sea; everyone thinks you are dead.”
“I have already told you, Georgette. Freedom means everything to me.”
She was acting confident now, but he knew that her first time would hurt if he wasn’t careful.
A black rage overcame her, and she began to imagine all the different things she would do to them with her bare hands.
“You’ll never lose me. I’m yours.”
If a simple kiss on her leg made her do that, he wondered what other sounds she would make when he did what he had planned for her.
“I love you, Georgette,” he whispered and kissed her shoulder. She smiled at him through heavy lids. “I know, Captain Stone. I know.”
“You are a true force of nature. I am both aroused by you and terrified of you.”
am immortal, and you are a siren. Let them come. We’ll destroy every ship that comes our way.”
He wanted to make love every chance he could get. Georgette had no complaints; now that she had a taste of him, she couldn’t get enough.
“If he hadn’t, I would never have known you,” Captain Stone said. He bent to her ear. “And I confess that I am very happy to know you. I plan to keep knowing you for the rest of my life.”
“It will take more than killing me to keep me away from my love,” he said.
“I will always come back to you,” he said. “No one will ever stop me.”
