If she tried to speak, she might angry-cry, which was just the worst kind of cry because everyone assumed you were upset, when in fact you were so full of rage that if your tear ducts didn’t let out some pressure your head would explode.

“He shouldn’t have been swinging for anyone. I work with primates who have more self-control than Guy.” Katie’s expression was dark.

“You aren’t responsible for other people’s actions, or their happiness. It isn’t your job to make everyone feel better. Your altruism is to be commended but not at the expense of yourself.”

these venues love to pack in the work parties. I hope they don’t deconstruct my food. I hate that. Just put the bloody meal together. Don’t hand me a plate of separate ingredients and call it deconstructed, it’s just laziness. If I wanted to make my own dinner, I’d have stayed home.”
