I could feel her smile as she nestled deeper into my arms. We fell asleep like that, cuddled together, arms wrapped around each other, whispering sweet nothings into each other’s ears until our eyes drooped closed and no more words came to us. I fell into a deep, peaceful sleep, one where I had her for always. I hoped the day would never come when I had to say goodbye to the sweet feisty little redhead who had taken a big piece of my heart.
