I don't understand why Blaec is the first mate? Like Jase is obviously more suited for her. She also seems more connected to him. All Blaec does is challenge her which is great but sometimes you don't need a challenge. Also I think if Sal really tried she would be stronger than Blaec but I don't think the author wants her to be which is stupid
