“Can’t. Busy,” I immediately shot back. He might’ve stumbled from the impact. “Okay.” Hutch smiled awkwardly. I used to press my finger in his dimple like it was a button.

“We shouldn’t do this,” he said. “Why not?” I stroked his clean-shaven cheek. “We tried this once before, and it didn’t end well.” “It ended because I was a scared idiot, not because I ever stopped loving you.”

“Amos, I know I broke your heart before, but if you give me one more chance, I’ll never break it again.”
