I’m breathless as she quirks an eyebrow but doesn’t glance away. Time stands still. The connection I feel with this woman makes my palms sweat.
As a general rule, I hate music. It’s a distraction I don’t have time for, but as she sings against my chest, I know I’ll be reliving this moment for a long time.
She pulls free from my grasp and places both hands on my cheeks. There’s a noticeable shift between us in this moment and my eyes burn. I’m startled to realize tears are forming at their corners.
