NEW JERSEY HAS the best garage sales. In the same pile as you might find a stained Baby Shark onesie and a Ziplock bag full of 1,000 Ikea Allen wrenches, you may discover a garter belt worn by Marie Antoinette or another garter belt worn by Baby Shark. So, perhaps it shouldn’t have surprised me to happen upon a goat pee stained box that housed a series of old diaries, hard drives, and email printouts that changed the way I view world history.
