He was eventually ordered to conduct the election by a federal appellate court judge. Governors in Florida and Michigan have also tried this hack. In 2018, Stacey Abrams narrowly lost a Georgia gubernatorial election to Brian Kemp, who oversaw the election at the time as secretary of state, and purged the rolls of half a million registered voters just before the election.
