Social systems can have fail-safes as well. Many of our laws have something to that effect. Murder is illegal, regardless of the means used; it doesn’t matter if you figure out some clever way to hack a system to accomplish it. The US Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) was supposed to serve as a fail-safe as well: a minimum tax that a citizen is required to pay, no matter what sort or how many loopholes they’ve discovered. (That the AMT didn’t work as intended is a demonstration about how hard this can be.)
