My hand slides over his, his fingers lacing through mine, the one resting protectively over our son. He kisses my forehead, his lips ghosting over my closed eyelids, my cheeks, my nose, lips, jaw. I giggle as he kisses my lips a final time. “I love you, Grace,” he whispers over my lips, breathing the words into me, imprinting them on my soul.
