Coordinated group efforts in worship services, through song and prayer, harness the power of individuals together for a united purpose; it’s the kind of spiritual ritual I was practiced in when I was still actively participating. Say what you will about evangelicals—they know how to collectively call down spirit in a church service and do the kind of energy work that many Instagram witches can only talk about.
