Fox reaches past me and flicks Bellamy’s nose. “We don’t disparage ourselves,” he grunts. We save that for the people we murder. Fox reads my text and kisses the side of my head. “That’s right.”
Confidence is sexy as fuck, in case you’ve forgotten or you’re randomly reading book two without having read book one, in which case there’s something wrong with you and you need to go to the hospital immediately. You can tell them I sent you. It’ll be fine.
I still haven’t figured out how magic remains hidden from humans when magic users do shit like this all the time. Random rainstorm? Blame global warming! It’s not like global warming doesn’t already do enough; now we’re letting it take the heat for angry thunderbirds showing up.
Bear is the human donor to Fox’s genetics, and he lives up to his name. He also looks like Thor and Captain America had a baby with Superman.
“Home.” I will never not love the sound of that word out of his mouth. The no-longer-homeless mute boy loves knowing he has a place he belongs.
I’m living in the lap of luxury, and his name is Arlington Fox.
Two doms don’t make a right. That’s how the saying goes, I’m sure of it.
My eyes and expression say, I fucking love you, and the bulge in my pants says, I love fucking you, and I’m so glad I get to make good on the promise in my kiss.
Bellamy quietly huffs a laugh beside me, making no attempt to hide his amusement. “Onward, Buttercup. There’s fuckery to spread.”
It kinda gives me warm fuzzies about my future husband. I’m not sure what it says about me that my heart gets affectionate for him when Fox scares the shit out of people, but I’m not too worried about it either. We all have our character flaws; clearly mine is being in love with a terrifying, happily murderous Reaper, but hey, I also get warm fuzzies when he’s not in scary Reaper mode.
First Fox finds the most perfect Harbinger in all the worlds, then his perfect Harbinger grabs up the best Acolyte and now has found an amazing Augur, a functional member of the community that can’t happen unless they’re found by someone in the community. Pfft. Convenient, amiright? Convenient enough for an overarching plot line in a multi-book series. *side eye*
Jesus-fucking-Christ, people are gullible. I really don’t know how we’ve survived on this planet for so long. We’re evolution’s version of that one mistake we all make that haunts us for the rest of our lives.
