“Maybe you chose boring in your past relationships because it was safe, and there was less chance of you falling all in,” he says softly. “And maybe you need someone who’s going to push, who’s going to shake things up so much you don’t know which way is up and which way is down. But that’s not a bad thing. Because then, when you fall, maybe you won’t hit the ground.”
“It’s scary giving someone your all. I get it. But, with the right person, what you get back is…” He huffs out a breath. “It’s everything.”
“This is, by far, the worst thing I have ever done,” Dixon grumbles, making me laugh. “I’ve heard that claim before,” I point out, immensely glad I found this pay-by-the-half-hour sumo gym. Dixon’s face when we walked up was priceless. “Yes, well, do you sense the theme? Both times have involved you.” He quirks a brow.
