The shift toward racially progressive views appeared across all generations, but was noticeably larger among Millennials and Gen Z’ers. This generation gap was new. In 2012 and 2014, White Democrats’ views on racial equality were fairly similar regardless of generation. By 2018, Millennials had pulled away.
