“But what good is the promise of a pirate?” I asked, the edges of my lips forming a smirk. “A pirate's word is everything when it involves his treasure,” he whispered, leaning closer to me.
“Can you feel me?” I asked. “Almost.” he breathed. “And it’s enough.” “Enough for what?” “To make me want you.”
“In another life, I have no doubt you could have been mine, Katrina. But fate has decided against us.”
“Katrina, I’d die a thousand deaths over again if it meant I could be with you. You’re the one I’d endure hell over and over again for. You are the one that I can’t stop seeing when I look up at the night sky. You are the first thing that guides me when the tide rises. You are my North Star.”
“If I could only put you in the sky where you belong, starlight,” he said through laughter.
But you don’t have to be jealous.” “How can I not? Any pirate worth his salt will steal another man’s treasure without hesitation.” “Well good thing for you I am not a treasure to be stolen. I’ll give my heart to who I want.” “Then I pray I am the one you choose, my star.”
“I guess this is where the saying ‘the coast is clear’ comes from?” I joked,
“I will always find my way back to you, Katrina. My North Star.” He left me no time to respond.
