No matter what you’re doing throughout your day, praying first keeps you tethered to the One who loves you most.
Prayer is the difference between the best you can do and the best God can do.
Children are innocent and humble, unassuming and eager to share their experience of the world and to bask in their parents’ loving attention. Kids want to be seen and heard, to be valued and protected and appreciated.
Prayer is about living in connection to God and, through that connection, living out His purpose for your life, which is why it’s important to talk to God before you act, before you decide, before you’re tempted, before you speak, before you risk.
God would rather you whine, complain, cry, curse, rant, and rave than withdraw. He can handle your passionate anger and your bitter fears and would rather you maintain relationship with Him than walk away, dismiss Him, and refuse to talk to Him.
He’s the expert on fulfilling the law, just like my earthly attorney, but on a spiritual, eternal level. Jesus pleads my case before the Father just as my attorney might plead for me in a court of law.
Just imagine Jesus praying specifically for you next time you’re praying. Imagine Him turning to God the Father, both His Father and your Abba Father, and explaining what you need and why you need it.
Confronting the Enemy means casting down every lie—everything not aligned with God’s will—and replacing it with truth.
