“Sit down, boy, let us hold you down and put some wire into you, and you can go home to your cave like the wild animal you are.” “Oh you understand me, Doctor.”
I enjoyed being by myself, I only had a few people who treated me like family, and I didn’t even like being around them for long periods of time. And the other people in my block? I fucking hated them, bunch of idiots, most of whom would be dead within half an hour if they ever left the walls. I protected them on the wall because it was my duty, but I laughed when they died. I was a sadistic mess. I never thought I would fall for someone because I didn’t even know what love fucking meant. Until him.
I kept him from getting killed, and he read books and knew things, that was our dynamic.
“Stop right now!” Greyson yelled after Leo and disappeared behind us. “That’s going to be us in nineteen years,” Killian whispered as we watched Greyson sprint after his husband. “That’s us now.”
“I hope you know how unhealthy this is.” “What part of our relationship has been healthy?”
“Greyson is right then, I am your conscience!” I kissed his lips. And I meant it too, we could be two fractured people who, when stuck together, formed one perfect person. I felt his lips tighten as he smiled. “I ignore my conscience a lot, so don’t go thinking you can make me do good things.”
“I’m sorry… it will never happen again.” Never just an apology… always a resolution that he would never make the same mistake twice. He was always so hard on himself. Never saying sorry because he thought that’s what you wanted to hear. He only said it when he meant it. “I forgive you,” I said.
