This hit me weird because a few pages back the author wrote about how the family had been driving for an hour to get to their new home… daddy isn’t lying is he?
At age five, he had endured more trauma than most adults.
This author has a style of writing that lets me see EVERYTHING they write.. I think this is gonna be a game changer for me!
Over the next two years, that’s exactly what they did.
This sentence felt ominous! Incredibly ominous!
Sure enough, human faces were embedded in the colors that stretched across the painting. The faces in the darker part of the painting were in pain, contorting and screaming in misery. Their expressions gradually changed as Bryan let his eye follow the caravan of faces. From the pained they turned to confused, from confusion to contentment, from contentment to happiness, from happiness to nirvana.
This isn’t right- foreshadowing- and man- I’m not ready for this (I think)!

fluorescent lights
The author keeps mentioning fluorescent lights- in the last scene they were used in the home where the man mutilated himself. Will this be a sign of omen or malice?
completely ignoring her previous question.

This line is giving me mad chills. But you know what the dog better be okay!
