"Don't leave me," he whispered. "Please. I know you don't want me around, but I'll be quiet. I know how to do that. And I'll be good."
It was rare that I left with the others, unless he wanted me to get info out of someone. Or kill them.
I was positive that all mafia men were violent, but Vito was just...cranky.
After searching through different articles, I’d found out what Romare was. A little.
Our lips crashed and Romare moaned against my mouth. His arms wrapped around my neck and when I straightened up, he wrapped his legs around my waist and squeezed me tightly.
Vito burst out laughing. “You look so sweet, but you’re the devil.”
Vito didn’t understand. I wanted him to be the man that stayed by my side. At least until the fantasy was forced to come to an end.
Thinking about the past wasn’t going to change my future. But I would be a moron not to take the happiness I saw before me.
“I think I love you too,” I whispered, my breath a shudder as I clung to him.
Three little words and I was ready to paint the world red for him.
“I love you more than I have ever loved anyone in my life.”
