“Absolutely not.” Logan’s voice is controlled and calm, like he has rehearsed this a million times. My heart sinks and my lungs deflate as my hopes come crashing down. “You’re nuts for even insinuating that. You have nothing to worry about, trust me.” As if his first admission wasn’t like a slap to the face, I can barely stomach his last two sentences.
